David creates sculpture in gas and electric-welded steel for indoor and outdoor display.
Outdoor pieces are often galvanized by dipping them in hot liquid zinc before being etched down to a dull lead finish, making them thoroughly waterproof. Other pieces are left to rust naturally and take on an attractive, brown bracken-coloured appearance.
These sculptures are much enhanced by an outdoor setting where frost, rain, snow, changing seasons and visiting wildlife allow them to evolve lives of their own.
